Here is a guest post by Kathy Wilson.

A vacation is a departure from norm even for creatures of habit, and that’s why it’s hard to get back to routine once you’re home. For one, you feel a sense of emptiness because your long-awaited and eagerly anticipated holiday is now behind you and you have to wait a year (or six months) to take off again. And for another, it’s a struggle to wake up early each morning after lying in late and having to go back to a humdrum routine after enjoying exciting and innovative experiences every day. But if you don’t work hard on settling back into your normal life as soon as you’re back from your trip, you’re at risk of laziness and lethargy at work and more importantly from the health point of view, of ballooning up in the weight department. If you’re looking for ways to help you get back to healthy eating after binging on your vacation, here’s what you need to do:

Get started as soon as possible: The longer you delay your return to your regular workout and healthy eating, the harder it is to get back on track. So psyche yourself up on the way back to start eating nutritious food and working out the day after you return. If you keep telling yourself that you’ll do it tomorrow, remember that every day has a new tomorrow, so you’re only postponing your return to good health indefinitely.

Weigh yourself: Stand on the scales, look in the mirror, ask friends to be brutally honest in telling you if you’ve gained weight – do just about anything it takes to take stock of and assess your before vacation and after vacation body. Your eyes won’t lie to you, but your mind will try to trick you into believing that the change not that bad. Don’t listen to your mind; instead, go with your gut instinct and start your healthy eating with a vengeance.

Reward yourself for good behavior: Tell yourself that you’re allowed a treat if you stick to a week of healthy eating and regular exercise. After the first few days, it gets easier to adhere to, so you’re assured of an ice cream or your favorite food on the weekend. It’s not that hard to stick to a goal when you have something to look forward to if you achieve it.

Rope in a partner: Sometimes it’s easier to stick to a resolution if you go through it with a buddy or your spouse. Make it a kind of competition so it’s more enjoyable. You don’t want to be the one who gets caught with your hand in the cookie jar so to speak, so you work extra hard at staying the path even as you hope your partner will not beat you to the goal.

Look forward to your next excuse to binge: And finally, stick to your healthy eating even as you comfort yourself with thoughts of your next vacation and all the exotic food you can try out. Think of it this way – if you eat healthy and work out regularly now, you’re not only in great shape when it’s time for your holiday, you also get to reward yourself with different culinary delights.

By-line:

They get into your body from food, water, air and products you put on your body. Mounting evidence shows they accumulate in your body and cause many health problems. Minimizing exposure and improving detox is an important step to improving your
health. Here are some Detox tips to help you improve detox.

Minimize exposure:

Reducing the chemical load on your body will give it a chance to detoxify some of the backlog.

Eat organic food as much as possible to reduce exposure to herbicides, pesticides, fungicides antibiotics and hormones that are used in conventional farming.

Drink filtered water .

Avoid household products and cosmetics that contain toxic chemicals . There is a wide variety of natural and organic products to choose from these days.

Avoid toxic metals. Eat only low mercury fish. Don’t cook in aluminum pans. Avoid cigarette smoke. Avoid handling lead.

Use household plants to help purify the air or consider an air filter.
Bamboo Palm, English Ivy, Gerbera Daisy, Mother-in-Law’s Tongue, Peace Lily are among those that can help.

Improve Detox

Diet

Eat a diet high in fruit and vegetables for the nutrients that can improve detox.

Include cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, watercress. They are rich in antioxidants and substances that can enhance Phase 2 detox.

Onions, garlic and leeks also contain compounds that can enhance Phase 2 detox pathways.

Increase fiber rich food such as whole grains, vegetables and fruit. It helps top keep your bowels regular so toxins that have been eliminated in the bile are no reabsorbed. Fiber is thought to bind to toxins in the gut and help remove them.

Add herbs and spices to your food especially turmeric, rosemary, dill, and caraway as they can help push the liver detox pathways.

Green tea has been shown to improve detox in animal studies. 3 cups of green tea a day can reduce cancer risks in humans according to studies.

Use seaweed in cooking. Seaweeds such as Kombu, Hiziki, and Wakame can speed up excretion of dioxins. Researchers found that chlorella can lower dioxins in pregnant women. Both cord blood and breast milk were lower reducing the transfer if this harmful chemical to the baby.Make sure you get seaweed that is pure as it can be contaminated with pollutants from the sea.

Drink 6 – 8 glasses of pure water a day to help elimination through the kidneys

Exercise

Researchers have established that exercise can boost the detox system. At least 20 minutes of aerobic exercise 3 to 5 times a week is ideal. Don’t forget to shower off afterwards to prevent toxins being reabsorbed.

Far Infrared Sauna Treatment

Regular saunas and steam baths can help with the elimination of toxins but if you are very toxic you may not be able to tolerate them. The effect is to warm up the whole body and chemicals that are mobilized from the fat cells get into the blood stream and can cause acute poisoning.

Far Infrared Saunas (FIR) operate at 60 to 80 degrees lower and will help eliminate toxins from the fat layers just under the skin through the sweat. This method prevents them being released into the blood. Detox with FIR may be 7 – 10 times more effective than conventional sauna.

According to research by Dr Sarah Myhill, CFS expert, the toxins are excreted in the first few minutes of sweating in the FIR so you don’t have to stay in hours to get a result! Minerals are lost in the sweat as well so it’s
important to replace them.

Supplement support

Nutritional supplements that support liver detox pathways can help improve detox and reduce symptoms related to slow liver detox. BodyHealth Complete + Detox contains ingredients that help and support liver detoxification as well as a complete range of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Silymarin the active ingredient of the herb Milk Thistle can help support liver detoxification at a dose of 200 – 400 mg a day.

Although toxic pollutants will remain in the environment for generations to come there is evidence that you can minimize their effects with diet and lifestyle changes that reduce exposure and increase detox and elimination.

If you have any serious medical condition it will only help if you follow these detox tips but if you want to do any intensive detox you should be guided by a doctor or practitioner who understands and experienced in detox.

After years of hearing that chocolate is bad for you all we hear is now is how good it is for you. It’s only dark chocolate though that is suddenly being hailed as the latest superfood. But I was astounded recently to hear that a particular healthy chocolate could detox you!

When I contacted the people who were saying this I discovered that it is not the chocolate itself but the Acai berry juice that it is sweetened with that is a detoxifier. Oh, really?

I have to explain that this particular raw cacao is sweetened with raw cane juice crystals, blueberry and Acai berry juice. It’s sold in tiny squares and the makers recommend that you take 3 squares a day for it’s benefits.

Acai berry detox scam

I have already gone into the whole Acai berry detox diet scam in another post so I won’t go into it all again here except to say that I can find no evidence that it can detox you. Acai berries are high in antioxidants which are needed in the body to mop up free radicals that are created by the
detox process. But to say they can detox you is completely misleading.

There is no doubt that there has been a lot of research on chocolate and there are reports that it is good for your heart, may lower blood pressure and bad cholesterol (LDL). It’s a bit worrying that a lot of the research is funded by Mars, the company that makes CocoaVia, being promoted
as a healthy chocolate. Makes you wonder doesn’t it?

Epicatechins are good for your heart

It’s fact that dark chocolate is high in epicatechin, a flavonoid which can keep cholesterol from gathering in blood vessels, reduce the risk of blood clots, and slow down the immune responses that lead to clogged arteries.

Epicatechin, triggers blood vessels to release nitric oxide, which relaxes nearby muscle fibers, allowing the arteries to expand and carry more blood. Beet juice has the same effect and I wrote an article about that on my Natural Remedies Blog.

The makers of raw chocolate point out that standard chocolate manufacturing destroys up to half of the flavonoids but it seems that some chocolate companies have now learned to make dark chocolate that keeps up to 95% of its flavonoids. You cannot rely on the fact that it says dark
chocolate on the label.

One researcher found that a chocolate bar with most of its healthy flavonoids stripped away had no effect on blood vessels. Flavonoids are powerful plant chemicals that can be found in many vegetables, fruit red wine and tea. Cocoa contains almost twice the flavonoids as red wine and
nearly three times the amount found in green tea. They can have a powerful effect on cell health.

Chocolate is stimulating and addictive

If you are a chocoholic you can now tell yourself that raw chocolate is as good for you as a plate of vegetables, but is it? Chocolate contains over 350 different chemicals and and raw cacao contain significant levels of theobromine, theophylline, caffeine and phenylethlamine.

Theobromine and caffeine are naturally occurring stimulants. Phenylethlamine generates a feeling of contentment and wellbeing but a short period of emotional high is followed by a period of emotional low causing cravings for more. Chocolate can lead to addiction for some because of the rush they get from the stimulants and the “feel good” chemicals.

You rarely find people who are addicted to salads, green vegetables or blueberries which are all high in antioxidants. The difference is that they don’t contain alkaloids. Many alkaloids are toxic and often have pharmacological effects. Some people will not be affected by the alkaloids in chocolate and raw cacao but there others who will.

Chocolate contains tyramine that trigger migraines and nausea in some and can trigger release of histamine which is bad news for people on a low histamine diet for slow diamine oxidase enzyme activity.

Is healthy chocolate a superfood?

To my mind a superfood is a nourishing plant that contains high levels of essential minerals and vitamins that does no harm. It certainly does not contain strong alkaloids. It’s been pointed out that chocolate tastes very bitter in its raw unprocessed form and is not a staple food. Anything
that is bitter or strong tasting would be nature’s way of telling us that this is a powerful plant or medicine.

While researching this article I came across some healthy chocolate that is being released soon that contains zeolite, a substance that detoxes heavy metals. I will have to look at this in more in more detail but for now I have to say that raw chocolate can be a tasty treat if taken in moderation
but the answer to “Can Chocolate form part of a Detox Diet” is NO.

Guest post

If you are following a plan of vegetarian diet nutrition, are you getting it all? First we have to destroy the myth that eating a Standard American Diet (SAD) provides you with what your body really needs.

If you’ve been learning at the Hippocrates Health Institute for any amount of time, you now know that the food pyramid’s aim is to help the lobbyists , not your health. Most people on the SAD are starving their body of vitamins and minerals, enzymes and phytochemicals.

Phytochemicals are the electricity of the body. If your energy and reactions in your body are weak, this is the bottom line even more than vitamins and minerals.

You may be taking many vitamin supplements, but for the most part the body cannot digest and metabolize them because they are artificial. Only when we get back to our design and eat fresh organic plant-based food do we find the vitamins, minerals, enzymes and phytochemicals the body can readily use.

You get all these straight from the food you eat when you consume growing sprouts: sunflower seed sprouts, pea green sprouts, alfalfa sprouts, bean sprouts…

…The growing sprouts and wheatgrass have literally 30 times the phytochemicals you find even in other organic vegetables.

Plant-based food in its raw unaltered state contains about half the enzymes you need to digest it. So you can imagine the encumbrance you are placing on your body if you regularly consume food that does not come with its own digestive enzymes and is also not easily digestible.

The digestive system is the most energy intensive of all the body’s systems anyway. If you over-burden it with heavily refined, cooked foods and meat, there is barely any energy left to perform cleansing and repair functions.

Do you ever feel really tired after a meal? I know I have and I thought it was normal. But you’ll find that eating an 80% raw vegetarian diet, you get the nutrition your body needs and you will have a lot more energy.

As obesity continues to become a greater health hazard throughout the United States, more and more people are turning to more extreme methods of losing weight, and one of the most effective of those methods is to attend a weight loss retreat. weight loss boot camps A weight loss retreat is a resort for overweight people that helps them stay motivated to work towards the goal of losing weight. Weight loss retreats are rather expensive, so you should not attend one unless you are sure that it is the only way for you to lose weight.

The key to weight loss retreats’ success at slimming people down is external motivation. fat boot camp In your normal routine, you have to stay self-motivated to exercise regularly and exercise self-control to maintain a healthy diet, but at a weight loss retreat, you are not only motivated by yourself, but also by the trainers and other people who attend the resort. Rather than having to deal with the temptation to break your diet every day, you have no choice in the food that is served to you. You also don’t have to resist the temptation to procrastinate on your exercise schedule at a weight loss retreat because you are expected to exercise with everyone else. fat camp uk You don’t have to push yourself so much to live a healthy lifestyle at a weight loss retreat because you are pressured by other people to do what you need to do.

Because so much exercise is expected of you at a weight loss retreat, you may be imagine that so much physical work every day would make you miserable. In fact, you will grow used to the new routine faster than you might expect, even though the first few days may be a struggle.
What effect does exercise have on glucose levels?

It is quite easy to manage diabetes when you incorporate a program for exercise in your daily routine. Such exercises have been shown to have positive effects for people who are suffering from diabetes, especially those who have low glucose levels. One example is exercise being able to channel muscle energy, convert it into glucose and then using that glucose as fuel. At the start of it, the body will just use the glucose that has been converted into glycogen from one’s muscles.

Glucose is also found in your bloodstream. If you maintain a long term exercise program, it is highly likely that the levels of your blood glucose will not dip. Also, glucagon and other hormones found in your body will also be released. These hormones and glucagon work together and break down all of the liver’s stored fat and then converting such stored fat into more glucose. It is best that you engage in exercise frequently, because your body will improve. It will develop a sensitivity to insulin, as well as help you gain better control of the body’s glycemic index.

Why is the effect of exercise on glucose levels important to those with type 2 diabetes?

Exercise indeed has a good effect on a patient’s glucose level. This is good news for people who have type 2 diabetes. A lot of research indicates that patients of diabetes gain more control over their glycemic as soon as they get used to a regular exercise program. On the other hand, people who do not engage in exercise find no improvement on their glycemic control. Since exercise improves your insulin sensitivity, you will also need less medicines in order to control the levels of your blood sugar.

Should patients with type 2 diabetes exercise more often or differently than otherwise healthy people?

To maintain general health, experts recommend at least 2 hours and 30 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 90 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity spread over 3 or more days per week. There are no separate recommendations for those with diabetes.

What type of exercise is best for type 2 diabetes patients?

In light of this, the frequency of the routine is more important that the kinds of exercise one engages in. There are many researches wherein an abundance of benefits result from both weight training as well as aerobic activity.

When should patients be discouraged from exercising?

If you are high risk for cardiac arrest or engage in too stressful exercise, you should get cautioned and adapt to it slowly.

The diet of our ancestors is completely different from what we are so accustomed to these days. With the advancement of technology, the types of foods we consume are dragged along. A trip to the grocery store will shock you with the abundance of animal products and processed food items. Finding fast food is easy since you can find it at practically every corner.

Even fad diets are partly to blame, for introducing a whole new eating habit, such as high-protein diets. Recently, consumption of refined food and animal products have increased, as many more people leave out the daily supply of fruits and vegetables in their diet.

It comes as no surprise why, these days, many are suffering heart problems, bone diseases, and from different types of allergies. Some health experts link these diseases to the type of foods we eat. There are certain types of food that disrupts a certain balance in our body that, during such instance, health problems arise. If only we could modify our eating habits, it’s not unlikely that prevention of diseases and restoration of health is achieved.

The Alkaline Diet Benefits

Our bodies need to maintain a healthy and steady alkaline to acid ratio, which is signified by the pH level of our body. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14, acidic is anything lower than 7. Processed food items, sweets, meat products, and some beverages generally produce excessive amounts of acidity in the body.

Acidosis, abnormally high acidity level in the blood and other tissues of the body, is the one thing that several different diseases have one thing in common. And many health experts believe that acidosis is responsible for a lot of fatal diseases that many people are afflicted with these days.

Alkaline main role in the body is to neutralize excess acidity in the body. However, alkaline also becomes depleted – especially when it overloaded with acid that it needs to get rid of, and we do not eat foods that replenish our body’s alkalinity.

Maintaining a Healthy pH Level

As mentioned earlier, acidosis do lead to many health related problems. Dangerous levels of acid get to circulate in our body and break into organs and tissues when not properly neutralized. To prevent this, one must see to it that a healthy pH balance in the body is maintained. And to counteract the excessive amounts of acid is to increase your body’s alkalinity.

Determining whether or not your pH levels are prevalently alkaline may be done with easy-to-use pH level strips which you can purchase in medical supplies or some drug stores. There are pH level strips meant for testing using your urine , and there are those for using your saliva.

Basically, a saliva pH level strip will determine how much acid your body is producing; normally it’s between 6.5 and 7.5 throughout the day. While a urine pH level strip shows how well you excrete excess amounts of acid; you should get between 6.0 and 6.5 in the morning and between 6.5 and 7.0 at night.

The Dangers of Excessive Acid

If you have high acid levels in your body, you may experience exhaustion, headaches and having frequent colds and flu. But the ill effects of acidosis in the body don’t stop there; you might be surprised at the wide-ranging types of diseases you could get with dangerous levels of acid in your body.

Depression, hyperacidity, ulcer, skin dryness, acne and obesity are some of those linked to excessive acid levels in the body. Then there are those that are more serious such as joint diseases, osteoporosis, bronchitis, frequent infections and heart diseases.

Even if you begin to take medications for these illnesses, the symptoms may be masked, but they will still continue to affect your health since you are not addressing the root cause of the problem. Your body will only become more acidic no matter what medications you take because of these any medications or pills.

Alkaline Diet Approach

To get to the roots of these health problems, the body’s pH level must be brought back to normal. There are alkaline foods that can help replenish the depleted alkaline levels in the body while neutralizing excess amounts of acid. Through an alkaline diet sufficient amounts of alkaline are re introduced into the body, thus bringing back the pH level to mostly alkaline.

So how do you get an alkaline diet into your regular eating habits? First, you can start by reducing your intake of processed foods. These type of foods contain chemicals that only increase the acidity of your body ones they’re digested. Second, steer clear meat, dairy and alcohol products. Third, load up on fresh fruits and vegetables, as they naturally are high in alkalinity.

Even acidic fruits like oranges and lemons become alkaline after they have been digested and absorbed by the body. As a general rule, 75% of your daily food consumption should consist of alkalizing foods. The more alkaline foods we provide our bodies with, the more efficient the neutralization of excess acids will be.

Learn how you can get started with an Alkaline Diet

A juicer is your secret weapon not only for detox but for good health and longevity. By juicing a selection of fresh vegetables every day you can dramatically increase your intake of natural enzymes and antioxidants. Both can help delay the aging process and prevent disease. Health isn’t something that can turned on or off over night. It’s what you consume every day that counts.

You have probably heard that you should eat 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day but do you? If you do you are in the minority because most people don’t. Shocking statistics reveal that in the USA the average adult manages to eat just one and a half portions of fruit and vegetables a day!
In the UK 65% eat only one portion. They eat too much of the wrong food and too little of the right foods.

What’s so special about fresh vegetable juices?

Drinking vegetable juices every day is a wonderfully healthy habit. They are great for alkalizing the body have a great health building effect. Organic vegetables are loaded with chlorophyll, iron, calcium, numerous other minerals, vitamins and amino acids. While fresh juicing organic vegetables is no substitute for the whole food it’s a great way to pack nutrient dense structures into your body that are free of pesticides, preservatives, nitrites and other junk.

Fresh vegetable juices just flood your body with nutrients. Many people have limited ability to absorb all the nutrients from whole vegetables. As a result of poor food choices over the years the digestion becomes compromised. Juicing is great way of getting more nutrition into your body. They need very little digestion in the stomach are are rapidly taken up by the blood which carries the nutrients around the body nourishing revitalizing your cells.

Fresh vegetable juicing forms the basis of many healing regimes. Dr Max Gerson found that his patients recovered from all manner of diseases when they were put on a diet that consisted largely of fresh juices.

What’s wrong with carton or bottled juice?

But why go the bother of juicing when the supermarket shelves are brimming with all sorts of combinations of fruit and vegetable juices? Although ready made juices are probably better than no juices at all vegetable juice is best drunk fresh to get the benefits of all the nutrients and enzymes.

Unless fresh juices are consumed within a couple of hours of making they start to lose vitality and nutrients. Enzyme activity starts to reduce the longer the juice is left to stand. Many commercially made juices are pasteurized or sterilized to give them a longer shelf life. They are “dead” food.

Fresh food contains a life force or vitality that is not easily measured. Kirlian photography has demonstrated how fresh organic produce is surrounded by an energy field that is quite different from cooked food.

Some manufacturers import cheap produce from countries that are using many pesticides. They penetrate the body and are made from cheap. Some contain a whole host of additives, colorings and flavorings. It’s a case of reading the labels and choosing the most natural, untreated and freshest juice if you have to buy it off the shelf.

Green Vegetable Juices

Chlorophyll is the magic substance in green vegetables. It is known as the blood of plants as its chemical structure is very similar to the “heme” of hemoglobin in human blood. It carries oxygen which rapidly improves blood oxygenation and helps cleanse the body.

Experiments with chlorophyll have shown that it increases tissue cell activity and normal regrowth. It can help neutralize the toxic effects of some mutagens (things that change your genes and can cause cancer) which are ever present in our food and water.

Chlorophyll helps to strengthen cells and removes toxic, synthetic chemicals and heavy metals. The adhesive cellulose in its cell wall sticks to the metal atoms so they’re carried out as waste.

Get started with Green Vegetable Juices

If you have never tasted green juices before you might find them a bit earthy in flavor but you can soon remedy that. Try adding an organic apple or a few organic seedless grapes. Start off by using the milder tasting green leaves like Red leaf lettuce, Green Leaf lettuce, Romaine lettuce, Lamb’s quarters or Escarole. You can use celery and cucumber too. Try adding watercress or
arugula (rocket) to give it a bit of pep.

Then experiment with green cabbage leaves, Chinese cabbage, Bok choy, spinach, parsley or cilantro (fresh coriander). Add bitter leaves like Collard greens, Kale, Mustard and turnip greens when you get used to the taste. Pep the vegetable juices up even more with freshly grated root ginger, garlic and radish. Add a teaspoon of your favorite green food.

Children love green juices made with enough strawberries or raspberries to make the drink red. Add some Stevia, a natural sweetener, if absolutely necessary.

Warning about carrot and beet juice

Carrot juice is a favorite vegetable to juice or to add to juices but there is some concern that sweet vegetables like carrot and beet can raise blood sugar levels and trigger insulin. Over time this can cause metabolic syndrome. This can be avoided to a certain extent by adding a tablespoon of a cold pressed oil to an 8oz carrot or beet juice juice as it slows down absorption from the stomach.

If you are diabetic you should start with 4 oz of these sweet juices diluted with 4 ox pure water. Ideally add only a little carrot or beet juice to a green juice. Green juices can help the pancreas in repairing itself.

Metabolic types and juicing

Vegetable juicing is particularly good if you are a carbohydrate type but it’s better to avoid fruit juices as they are high in sugar. You can make fruit smoothies instead.

If you are a protein type you will do best if you only juice the vegetables for your type such as celery, spinach, asparagus, string beans and cauliflower and only have a small amount. Adding some fat to the juice such as avocado, coconut butter or ground flax seed would help. Try adding a scoop of a good protein powder too.

Juicing is fun and with a little imagination you can make up hundreds of recipes. Leave your favorite recipe in the comments box.

Here’s a couple of recipes to get you started:

Vitality Juice

* 2 green apples
* 4 stalks celery
* 8 Bok Choy leaves
* ¼ pound spinach
* 1 bunch parsley

Wash everything, core the apples and cut everything into small enough pieces to fit your juicer feeder. Juice everything . Stir, drink immediately and enjoy.

Green Saviour

3 apples
2 spinach leaves
2 celery sticks
1 handful of parsley
Half a cucumber
1 slice of ginger

Wash all ingredients, core the apples and cut everything into small pieces. Grate the ginger. Put everything through the juicer. Stir and enjoy.

Vegetable juicing every day will do wonders for your health.

If good health is a cocktail that we want to drink every day, then the nutrients in our food are the cherries on the top that add to the flavor, enhance the drink, and make it better than ever. Today, whether you’re a health nut or just a regular person who knows your food, antioxidants and vitamins rule the roost as far as nutrients go. And when you plan to go on a detox diet for various reasons, what you eat matters a lot because you’re basically looking to cleanse your body and free it from all the toxins that have accumulated because of your unhealthy eating habits and your lifestyle in a polluted environment. Some foods are better than others in ridding your body of toxins and purifying your blood; and as an added bonus, they’re also rich in antioxidants and other nutrients that are beneficial to your overall health. So if you’re going on a diet to cleanse your body of free radicals and other toxins, here are the top ten super foods that boost the detox process:

Fruits: Any fruit is a good source of vitamins, antioxidants and other nutrients. But if you’re looking for the ones that pack a punch, go with pomegranates and blueberries, and others that come in bright colors.

Green vegetables: They may not taste good, but they sure as hell are good for your body. So get some spinach, collards, kale, broccoli and other fresh green vegetables in your diet, and watch your health bloom. Also, the chlorophyll in these vegetables helps in healing and strengthening your digestive system and in ridding your liver of all accumulated toxins.

Green tea: It’s the best way to kick your addiction to the caffeine in coffee and tea, and when you kick start your day with a warm cup of green tea, you feel more energetic and rejuvenated. You also gain the goodness of antioxidants that prevent damage to your liver and other organs.

Foods rich in Vitamin C: Again, this list includes lemons, oranges, grapefruits and other citrus fruits, and green vegetables. When you add fresh fruit juice to your detox diet, the Vitamin C helps clean your liver and convert toxins into non-toxic, digestive material.

Garlic: It may be pungent and a bad pre-date food, but garlic is actually the best thing since sliced bread when it comes to your health.
