Since then I&#8217;ve had some requests for recipes for using them so here are a few ideas to whet your appetite.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Pumpkin Seeds<\/strong><\/span><\/p><div id=\"thede-295517113\" class=\"thede-content thede-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-2337972821559110\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block; \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p><em><strong>Pumpkin Seed Pesto<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>1 tbsp mint leaves<br \/>\n1 \u00bd tbsp extra virgin olive oil<br \/>\n1\/4 cup pumpkin seeds<\/p>\n<p>Finely chop mint and pound with olive oil with pestle and mortar.<br \/>\nGrind pumpkin seeds in small coffee grinder taking care not to over grind.<br \/>\nStir into mint and olive oil mixture.<br \/>\nAdd to raw or cooked soup<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Root Vegetable Salad with Pumpkin Seeds<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Serves 4<\/p>\n<p>2 carrots ( about 300gms) peeled &amp; grated<br \/>\n300 gms celeriac ( celery root) peeled &amp; grated<br \/>\n2 large raw beets ( beetroot) peeled &amp; grated<br \/>\n50 gms pumpkin seeds<br \/>\njuice of 1 lemon<br \/>\n1 tsp raw honey or agave syrup (optional)<br \/>\n3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil<br \/>\n20 gms flat leaf parsley, chopped<\/p>\n<p>Combine carrots, celeriac, amd beet in large bowl.<br \/>\nScatter pumpkin seeds over salad.<br \/>\nWhisk together the lemon juice, honey and olive oil.<br \/>\nToss through salad with parsley leaves.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Sunflower Seeds<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Raw Sunflower Hummus<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>2 cups sprouted raw garbanzo beans<br \/>\n1\/2 cup sunflower seeds<br \/>\n2 &#8211; 3 cloves garlic<br \/>\n1 tbsp fresh parsley<br \/>\n1\/4 cup virgin olive oil<br \/>\n3 tbsp salt free, sugar free, gluten free, vegetable seasoning to taste<\/p>\n<p>Blend all ingredients together until soft and smooth.<br \/>\nMakes approx 3 cups.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Red Cabbage, Kale and Carrot Slaw\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2690\" title=\"RedCabbageSlaw\" src=\"https:\/\/thedetoxspecialist.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/RedCabbageSlaw-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"Detox Diet Plan \" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>3 cups mixed shredded kale &amp; red cabbage<br \/>\n1 carrot cut into very small matchstick size pieces<br \/>\n2 tbsp diced red onion<br \/>\n3 tbsp sunflower seeds<br \/>\n1\/4 cup parsley leaves<br \/>\n1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil<br \/>\n1 tsp apple cider vinegar<br \/>\n1 tbsp Dijon mustard<br \/>\nBlack pepper to taste<br \/>\nA little celtic salt to taste<\/p>\n<p>Combine the kale, cabbage &amp; carrot, onion, seeds &amp; parsley in a bowl.<br \/>\nIn another bowl whisk the oil, vinegar &amp; mustard together .<br \/>\nSeason with a little pepper &amp; salt.<br \/>\nPour over slaw and mix well.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Flax Seeds<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Flax Seed Salad Sprinkle<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>1 tbsp ground flax seeds<br \/>\n1 tbsp fennel seeds<br \/>\n1 tbsp ground anise seeds.<\/p>\n<p>Mix all ingredients together in small bowl and sprinkle over salads or steamed vegetables.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Flax Seed Dressing<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>2 tbsp flax seeds and soaking water. see directions<br \/>\n1 cup carrot juice<br \/>\n1 red pepper roughly chopped<br \/>\nDash cayenne pepper<br \/>\nHerbs of choice<\/p>\n<p>Soak flax seed overnight in \u00bd cup water in fridge.<br \/>\nPut all ingredients into blender and blend until smooth.<br \/>\nUse a salad dressing<\/p>\n<p>Makes 1\u00bd cups approx<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Sesame Seeds<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Creamy Sesame Milk<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>1 heaping cup of raw sesame seeds,<br \/>\n4 cups water,<br \/>\n6 dates pitted<\/p>\n<p>Blend all ingredients together in a high powered blender<br \/>\nuntil very creamy.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Patrick Holford&#8217;s Seed Mix<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Half-fill a lidded glass jar with flax seeds and half with a mixture of sesame,<br \/>\nsunflower and pumpkin seeds.<\/p>\n<p>Keep in the fridge to minimize damage from light, heat and oxygen.<\/p>\n<p>Grind 1 &#8211; 2 tbsp as needed and add to smoothies or salads.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Hemp Seeds<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Hemp Reviver<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>6 tbsp hemp seeds<br \/>\n1 cup blueberries<br \/>\n6 &#8211; 7 large lettuce or other green leaves<br \/>\n2 tsp cinnamon<br \/>\n2 cups water or more if needed<\/p>\n<p>Place all ingredients in blender and blend until very smooth.<br \/>\nAdd more water if too thick.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Spicy Lemon Hemp Seed Dressing<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>1 clove of garlic, finely chopped<br \/>\nJuice of 1 organic lemon<br \/>\n1 tbsp mustard powder<br \/>\n\u00bc cup ground hempseed<br \/>\n2 tbsp fresh basil<br \/>\n1 tbsp fresh parsley<br \/>\n1 cup extra virgin olive oil<\/p>\n<p>Put all ingredients except oil in blender.<br \/>\nBlend while slowly adding oil.<\/p>\n<p>Serve over salad or vegetable dish<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Chia Seeds<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Blushing Chia Seed Smoothie <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 cup red grapes<br \/>\n2 teaspoons chia seeds, soaked for about 10 minutes<br \/>\n2 bananas<br \/>\n1 head romaine lettuce or other green leaves<br \/>\n1 tablespoon sesame seeds<br \/>\n4 to 5 ounces of filtered water<\/p>\n<p>Add everything except for the lettuce to your blender and pulse the ingredients until they are roughly blended. Now, add the lettuce and blend on high for 30 seconds or until smooth.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Raw Chia Energy Bar<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>2 bananas well mashed<br \/>\n2 cups of organic old fashioned oats<br \/>\n1 heaping tbsp of raw almond butter<br \/>\n1 tbsp of cinnamon<br \/>\n1 light drizzle of raw agave (or stevia)<br \/>\n2 tablespoons of raw chia seeds finely ground<br \/>\nAdd a few raisins, shredded coconut or chopped apple if liked.<\/p>\n<p>Place mashed bananas in bowl and add the rest of ingredients.\u00a0 Mix well together.<\/p>\n<p>Spoon mixture into lightly oiled square glass dish and make smooth.<br \/>\nCover and place in freezer for 30 minutes.<br \/>\nRemove from the freezer, uncover the mixture and slice into bars with sharp knife.<br \/>\nKeep a few in fridge for the ocasional snack and\u00a0 open freeze the rest until hard and store in freezer in suitable container until wanted. Allow to thaw out before eating.<\/p>\n<p>These bars are really meant for a little snack or treat if you are about to give in to something wicked.
