Here are some pictures of Las Fallas from the St Joseph’s Day Fiesta in Denia, Costa Blanca, Spain.
Las Fallas are enormous models made from papier- mâché, wood and wax, often characaturing Spanish social and political current affairs.
Many months are spent constructing them and then they are burned down one by one during the evening. Talk out a health and safety hazard! To make matters worse there is a firework display too but fireworks are being let off all day long by children.
