Can I Eat Avocados On A Detox Diet?

Many people avoid avocados because they contain fat and are afraid that it will increase their cholesterol levels or they will put on weight. In fact, avocados are not only good for your heart but are also good to eat on a detox diet.

They contain mostly monounsaturated fatty acids which lowers “bad” LDL cholesterol and raises “good” HDL levels.

It is essential to eat fat during a detox diet, because it stimulates the release of bile from the gallbladder. This is very important because the liver dumps the toxins that it processes into the bile. Eating this good type of fat can help you get rid of toxins.

Avocados contain compounds that can help the body produce glutathione, an amino acid used for liver detox in phase 2 .

Researchers have found that avocados contain potent phytochemicals that may reduce liver damage. They have also shown that eating one or two avocados a week for as little as 30 days can repair a damaged liver

Avocados contain more fiber that most fruit which is needed to move the toxins through the bowel.

They can help you feel more satisfied on a detox diet especially if you are restricting the amount of animal protein you are eating.
