Genetically Modified Foods: There has been a steady rise in the genetically modified crops and they are actually infiltrating the normal food supply at a truly alarming rate. Experts believe that adequate testing was not involved and nobody really knows what would be the long-term impact of GMO foods on human health. So better buy GMO-free foods and check the labels before purchasing food items. You could even opt for organic products.

Canned Foods: Most cans are supposed to be lined with a type of product known as bisphenol-A. This substance has been proven to genetically alter the rat’s brain cells. Several plastic products, water lines, thermal papers, and several dental composites are known to contain BPA. You must consider eating only fresh vegetables or maybe even frozen ones with no added ingredients.

Microwave Popcorn: Microwave popcorn is being examined by experts and is very much the topic of debates and discussions as it is supposed to be triggering lung cancer. The safety of the contents and even the chemically-lined bags is very much debatable. The oil and the kernels are GMO. Moreover, the fumes that are released from the artificial flavoring for butter are known to contain diacetyl that is highly toxic to humans. You should consider making your own organic popcorn in the typical old-fashioned manner. Your popcorn will taste better and would certainly be a healthier choice as it won’t release the harmful toxic fumes.

Grilled Red Meat: Grilled meat really tastes yummy. However, it has been established by scientific studies that grilling meat, particularly; processed meat such as hot dogs would be releasing heterocyclic aromatic amines, which is a carcinogen. It is, therefore, a better idea to bake, broil or prepare meat conventionally using a skillet, instead, of a grill.

Smoked, Pickled and Salted Foods: These food items are known to contain preservatives like nitrates 
that are intended for prolonging shelf life. Processed food contains additives that could get accumulated in your body with time. Such toxins would be damaging the cellular level causing cancer and other such diseases. When you are cooking smoked foods at very high temperatures, it is believed that nitrates would be getting transformed into far more hazardous nitrites.

Farmed Fish: Commercial fish farming involves raising a huge number of fish in a crowded environment. More than 60% of the United States’ salmon consumption comes from farming operations where a cocktail of pesticides, antibiotics, and tons of other carcinogenic chemicals are used to treat them for viral, parasitic, and bacterial outbreaks due to cramming in small areas. The farmed fish also lack omega-3 when compared to wild salmon.

Hydrogenated Oils: Chemical processes are extensively used in the extraction and treatment of vegetable oils and also to alter their taste. They are packed with a slew of unhealthy omega-6 fats and threaten to alter the structure of your cell membranes.


It is a very good idea to steer clear of food items labeled “light”, “diet”, or “fat-free”. While they sound attractive, the truth is natural fats and calories are replaced with hazardous chemicals. Eat organic whenever you can. If the fresh product is not easily accessible, buy raw or clean-frozen. Half of each meal of yours should be non-starchy vegetables. When you are buying animal products, go for grass-fed and pastured meats and dairy goods. Cut down on sugars and grains, and use only top-quality oils like olive and coconut oil, grass-fed butter, and ghee. Adopting these habits will not only mitigate the risk of cancer but also leave you feeling and looking better than ever before.

  1. Absolutely true. The worst thing, we eat more of these listed foods than organic and fresh fruits and vegetables. I have stopped eating canned and packaged food since last 12 months and my body feels naturally so good!
