You’ve probably come home many times in your life and felt completely exhausted, stressed out, and simply, without life. This is an issue many people face, but it can be dealt with. The same way you would detox your body by drinking smoothies, you can detox your mind (as well as your body) by doing yoga. Yoga is an amazing, relaxing activity that will help you let go of everything negative in your life. You’ll be able to sleep much better at night, and you won’t worry about things as much as before yoga. You can find some great instructors and, in general, Yoga in Goa if you search hard enough! Here are 7 yoga poses that will help you detox naturally and easily!

- Wide-legged forward bend
Form a wide-legged forward fold, around four feet apart. Move your left hand to your right ankle. Reach with your right hand upwards to the ceiling, and lean back. Take around 5 breaths (deep ones) and repeat but inverted. This pose will help you start detoxing your body and mind.
- Forearm wheel
This pose will help you release congestion and stagnation in your body. It’s also a great pose to enable your metabolism! Do the following: Set yourself into a reclined position (on your back), and start slowly pressing up. You’ll be able to press the top of your head to the mat. Move your forearms back (next to your head) and open your shoulders.
- High push-up (plank)
The high push-up will improve your lower and upper body strength, as well as strengthen your arms, legs, chest, and abdomen. Start by getting yourself into a half forward fold. Place your body in a position as if you were doing a push-up (hence the name). Lift your belly and kneecaps, so your body is in a straight line.
- Seated spinal twist
Sit down on the mat with your legs in front. Bend your right knee and put your right foot in front (outside) of the left knee. Place your left arm around your right leg and put your right hand down on the ground. Take deep breaths and make sure to lengthen your spine as you do it. 5 breaths are enough after which you should switch to the other side.
- Upward-facing dog
The Upward-Facing dog is great for strengthening your arms and back while also stretching your torso. It’s a great detox pose and here’s how you do it: Low push-up pose, then inhale, press your hands down, and move your chest forward. Press the mat with your feet. Pull your shoulders back, squeeze them together, and push your chest up and forward. Keep your head up so that your neck and spine create a nice line.
- Downward-facing dog
The downward-facing dog is one of the most popular and important yoga poses simply because it connects every part of you. It will help you maximize the effectiveness of the detox. Do the upward-facing dog, curl your toes, exhale, and create an inverted V from your body. Pull your shoulders away, spread your palms on the mat and spread your fingers. Gaze upon your thighs and hollow your belly. Do this for 5 long, complete breaths.
- Eagle pose
And we reach our final pose of the list – the Eagle pose. This pose stretches your shoulders, hips, and thighs. It improves circulation in the legs. Stand with your arms to the side and your feet together. Lift your left foot and bend the knee. Move your left foot around the right leg and place your left thigh on your right thigh. After this, make sure you cross your arms at the elbows – left over right. Finally, join the palms of the hands and point your fingers upwards. Take a deep breath and hold this pose until you exhale.
