It is the thinking that 1 in 1,000 people suffer from a wheat allergy, or Celiac disease (CD). CD is an intolerance of wheat, or an allergic reaction to the protein called gluten. Gluten is the protein division of wheat, rye, and barley. Some researchers suggest that truly the percentage of the population having “gluten-sensitivity” is actually closer to 2-3% of the population.
Gluten sensitivity (GS) may be at the derivation of some cancers, auto-immune disorders, neurological and psychiatric conditions and liver disease. Our Western-diet which is heavily wheat based accompanied by white breads, processed cereals, pastries, pasta etc. is in reality making millions of people ill.
Eating processed and refined wheat products causes a peak in blood sugar, followed by a drop, which can make people feel ill. Even whole wheat and other cereal grains that also contain gluten can be hard to digest. Most people would be better off without consuming any gluten products at all, problem is, we are addicted it!How would you know if you have a gluten-sensitivity? Some symptoms may include:
- weight loss
- chronic diarrhea
- vomiting
- foul-smelling and or oily stool
- abdominal pain
- irritability
- bloating
- colon problems
- anemia
- malnutrition
- fatigue and loss of energy
- flatulence
- constipation
- anemia
- skin rashes
- bruising easily
Years and years of consuming white bread, and other foods with refined and processed flour will ultimately lead to a buildup of mucoid plaque, which will then of course lead to a buildup of toxins, fecal matter, and impurities in the colon. Also be on the alert that wheat-free products are not necessarily gluten free. Plus, gluten fillers can be included in some prescription and over-the-counter medications, so ask your pharmacist to be sure.
Even if you are not celiac or gluten sensitive, restricting gluten build up is still good for your health. Colon cleansing once or twice a year will help alleviate the buildup in the colon and improve not only your colon health but your overall health as well.
