Why do you need to detox your body from pesticides?
We are all exposed to pesticides in our diet because they are used in the production and storage of non-organic food. Although we have been constantly assured by governments that they are safe at low levels it is now known that they get stored in our bodies, often for years, and affect the function of our cells which is why they have been linked to a number of chronic diseases. So, you can see why it’s important to detox your body from them
Health Damaging Effects of Pesticides
This amazing infographic tells it all.
Pesticides damage your cells
Pesticides are fat soluble. Water soluble toxins are easily flushed out of the body by the kidneys, but the fat soluble toxins are much harder for the body to remove so they get stored in the fatty layers of cells and organs, often for many years, where they can cause damage.
Even at low levels pesticides have been linked to a number of chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, autoimmune diseases, neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’ disease, reproductive disorders and birth defects.
One interesting area of research has linked the exposure to organophosphate, a particularly toxic pesticide, to diabetes and obesity. Low levels of exposure have been shown to reduce metabolism and inclease insulin resistance resulting in weight gain even when the person exercises and calorie intake is controlled.
So, now do you want to know how to detox your body from pesticides and what lipid exchange detox smoothies are?
Lipid Exchange smoothies are a way to detox your body of pesticides through the use of a specific ratio of oral fats.
Let me explain. Phospholipid exchange is a technique pioneered by Patricia Kane, also known as the Fatty Acid Queen, for supplying the correct proportion of fatty acids to replace contaminated and bad fats that have got into cell membranes and interfere with their function.
The phospholipids are injected into the body and as the good fats are exchanged for the bad ones some of the toxins are also released.
But the good news is that you don’t have to have injections. According to Dr Myhill, an expert on Chronic Fatigue, good results are also possible by taking the oils by mouth and that is where the Lipid Exchange Smoothies come in.
Providing the body with clean fats helps to displace fats which hold polluting pesticides, heavy metals and volatile organic compounds (VOC). VOCs include a variety of chemicals, some of which according to the Environental Protection Agency may have short- and long-term adverse health effects.
Your cell membranes need the right proportion of omega 6 to 3 oils. Although there is a certain amount of controversy over the correct proportion according to Dr Kane 4:1 is the right ratio.
Hemp seed oil is very close to this ratio at 3.8:1. If you add a small amount of sunflower oil, about 5%, you get the equivalent of Patricia Kane’s Body Bio-Oil.
The basic structure of our cell membranes is a substance called phosphatidylcholine. The best source of this is lecithin. Lecithin can come from egg, soya or sunflower. Be sure to use an organic and non-genetically modified lecithin.

Increase Fiber
Once the pesticides are released from the cells they will get taken to the liver to be converted to water soluble substances that can be eliminated more easily from your body in the bile. The more fiber you eat, the faster the toxin will move through your digestive system.
A good source of natural fiber is organic fruits and vegetables, seeds, beans and gluten free whole grains.
Exercise
Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day to help bring more oxygenated blood to your kidneys and liver, allowing them to detox more effectively.
