It’s one of the new fads doing the rounds in the health circuit – detoxification is supposed to be something you do to cleanse your body and organs like your liver and kidney. The food we eat is just pure junk, and this in turn turns our bodies into trash cans that are filled with toxic chemicals and waste. The cause of most of our ills and diseases can be traced to our lifestyle, more specifically, to the food we eat. If we wish to prevent ill health from dogging us, we need to detoxify our bodies from time to time. But most people shy away from this routine because they think it costs a ton of money. In fact, you can detox even if you’re a budget by following the below adages:
- Water, water everywhere, every time: Water is the best, easiest and cheapest way to detox your body. Its purity transfers to your body and washes out all the toxins from your intestines and kidneys. It leaves your skin flushed and glowing. Some people live on water for a few days when they’re trying to detox, but that is not advisable as it will leave you weak and drained of all energy. It’s best to avoid food and stick to water and fresh fruit juices and smoothies for a week when you’re on a detox spree.
- An apple a day keeps the doctor away: Eat fruits and veggies, preferably organic. But if organic breaks your budget, wash any fruit or vegetable that you eat thoroughly or steam them to remove all traces of toxic pesticides. A diet of only fruits and vegetables can help remove all the toxins that have deposited in your liver, kidneys and intestines.
- Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise: When you sleep well, when you go to bed early and get up with the birds, your body gets enough time to repair all the damage you have wreaked on it the previous day. Sound sleep and enough rest are ways to naturally detoxify your body without spending any money.
- Health is wealth: Besides using water therapy and fruit therapy to detoxify your body, the next best thing you could do on a regular basis is to get some regular exercise where you sweat out all the excess fat and unwanted toxins. When you work out, you feel energetic and full of life, not unhealthy and pasty as you do when your body is full of toxins.
Eating right, exercising regularly, and taking care of your health help keep your body toxin-free and thus disease-free.
