Hi Sandy
I seen the title on Adrienne’s site and had to pop over here. I have been trying to get healthy and have periodically used lemons to do so. Lately I have been drinking lemon juice everyday. Since I actually like lemons it is not a problem with the taste. I just squeeze a half a lemon and mix it with a glass of water. I try to remember to do this twice a day. I have taken lemons in the past when everyone around me is getting sick and was able to be not as sick as they were and for a lot less time.
Been into virgin coconut oil lately also, I was surprised at how good it actually is for you.
Great article on lemon juice.

Hi Mary,
Glad you saw my comment on Adrienne’s blog and came over. Commenting does work! I am a regular visitor to her blog but have only just started leaving a link to this blog.
Great to hear that are trying to get healthy. Drinking lemon juice is a great way to start as it is a good alkalizer. The majority of people eat a very acid forming diet. Adding more fruit and veg to your diet will help you become healthier.
Thanks for taking the time to comment I appreciate it.
Good health

Hi Sandy,
So I read this post anyway although I can’t stand lemons. I don’t like limes either, I know I’m weird. I just can’t stand their tastes although I know they are SO good for you. They are just way too tart for me. I just don’t even like their taste.
After reading all their health benefits that just depresses me. Urrgggg.. Most of the really healthy stuff I just don’t like which has always been an issue for me. Oh well, I enjoyed learning about lemons anyway.
Thanks for the education Sandy and enjoy your weekend.

Hi Adrienne,
I don’t think you are weird at all. There are a lot of people who don’t like sour tastes. There is a scientific reason why people dislike certain foods that is to do with your taste buds. Some people taste certain flavors much more strongly than others. I suspect you are one of those. You could always try adding a little natural sweetener like stevia to the lemon drink.
It is possible to train yourself to like certain healthy foods. I could not stand quinoa some years ago when I first tried it but now I don’t know why because I love it!
Good health.

Hi Sandy,
I saw your comment on Adrienne’s blog so I thought I’d stop by. I love this site because I’ve really gotten into the whole detox thing and I realize how important it is. In fact just a few months ago I was looking for just this information but never found it.
Anyway I’ve got your number now LOL! 🙂
I didn’t know about the cleansing benefits of lemon. It’s too bad because I just murdered my little lemon tree in my back yard. It never did very well and it had some bug in the leaves that I’ve never been able to get rid of so I just let it die. Oh well, this may be a good time to try again with another tree.
Thanks for the informative post.
Liz 🙂

Hi Liz,
So pleased you saw my comment and decided to drop by. Blog commenting does work! Good to hear that you are into detoxing.
Shame about the lemon tree. Maybe it was not a healthy specimen to start with but citrus trees can be hard to grow as they need special care. It’s best to avoid spraying them with chemicals of course, especially if you are going to use them as part of a detox program.
There is a lot of information online about treating pests without resorting to chemicals but I expect you already know that. I do hope your next tree will flourish if you decide to get one.
Good health
