A proper detox program can legitimately change your life. Detoxing your body can increase your basal metabolic rate, improve your biorhythm, help you have more energy throughout your day and much more.
Most detox programs rightfully focus on proper foods and drinks, with the addition of useful dietary supplements.
CBD oil (cannabidiol oil) is an emerging holistic health “medicine” that fits perfectly with nearly every detox program.
As a professional basketball player, I have used CBD oil throughout the past year to help my body deal with chronic pain, along with other mental health issues. In my experience, CBD oil is a truly excellent product and is a valuable addition to my mental and physical detox regiments.

What is CBD Oil?
For those of you who do not know anything about CBD oil, CBD is a non-psychoactive “cannabinoid” (compound) found in the cannabis plant. Unlike the other well-known cannabis compound THC, CBD does not “make you high.”
Over the last couple of years, CBD oil and other CBD products have become much more well-known, and people throughout the world are finding a wide variety of benefits from using.
One of the reasons more people have begun using CBD products is because in 2018 the World Health Organization declared CBD safe for use and without the risk of addiction. CBD products have quickly become a regularly used replacement for anxiety and pain medications, amongst various other uses.
In 2018 the World Anti-Doping Agency removed CBD from its banned substance list, which is why, as a professional basketball player, I have been able to use it.
There are various forms of CBD products, but the most commonly used form is CBD oil. CBD oil is taken sublingually, and it is a highly effective way of intaking CBD.
If you are on a mental or physical detox program, adding CBD oil to your daily routine can provide you many incredible benefits!
Benefits of CBD Oil for Your Detox Regiment
Although there are numerous uses for CBD oil and other CBD products, two of its most important impacts on the human body are reducing inflammation and returning the body to a state of homeostasis (balance).
If you are on a detox program, these are also likely two of your biggest goals.
According to a study published in Free Radical Biology and Medicine,
“the related nonpsychotropic cannabinoid cannabidiol, which may interact with the endocannabinoid system but has actions that are distinct, offers promise as a prototype for anti-inflammatory drug development.”
In many ways, CBD oil is the perfect replacement for NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) that are currently on the market. CBD is a powerful anti-inflammatory compound and posses clinically studied anti-oxidative stress properties.
For those of you who are on a detox program to help with inflammation based issues (For Example: Asthma, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Arthritis, Types 1 and 2 Diabetes, Atherosclerosis, Alzheimer Disease, Hypertension, Tendonitis), CBD oil is an excellent complement to the diet and lifestyle changes you are already making.
NSAIDs can alleviate inflammation, but they also have lasting side-effects such as stress on your internal organs or worse.
The other key benefit of CBD oil and CBD products is that it returns and maintains homeostasis within your body through activation of the human body’s innate Endocannabinoid System. The Endocannabinoid System, amongst other functions, is responsible for internal balance within our body. If the Endocannabinoid System is not properly function, your biorhythm will be out of sync, your metabolism will not function properly, and many other issues will arise within your body.
Using CBD oil as a part of your healthy detox program is an excellent way to maintain balance and make your detox program more successful!
Concluding Thoughts
Personally, I use CBD oil primarily to manage chronic pain from my basketball career, as well as to help me manage my Tourette’s Syndrome, a neurological disorder that causes painful and (occasionally intense) motor tics.
Throughout the year I go through various periods of “detoxing” to limit my motor tics and also manage inflammation that accrues through all my training session. In addition to fresh cold-pressed juice, a variety of herbal teas, superfood powders, and other common detox products, I include CBD oil for maximum mental and physical detoxification.
There are many reasons to use CBD oil, and people are quickly learning more about the benefits of this incredible cannabinoid!
