It is known that toxins build up in our bodies over a number of years. A one day cleanse is hardly going to touch the surface so is it worth doing? Absolutely!
A one day cleanse can be useful for the following:
1. If you have never done a detox or cleanse before then a one day cleanse is a good way to start
2. A one day cleanse can help kick start a healthy eating plan.
3. If you got sidetracked from your healthy diet then this is a great way to get back on track.
4. If you are feeling under the weather or have eaten or drunk too much the day before or over a longer period of time a quick cleanse can work wonders to perk you up again.
5. If you feel that you are coming down with something like a cold for example a one day cleanse could help ward it off.
The most popular type of one day cleanse is a juice cleanse or a green smoothie detox but it could just as easily be a cleanse where you eat nothing but fruit and vegetables.
One Day Cleanse Plan:
1.Water
While water will not detox you by itself it can help to stimulate your kidneys, liver and digestive system. Your intestines need to be kept hydrated so they keep moving the toxins out of your body.
Drinking gallons of water, as is sometimes advised, is not good as it can alter the balance of the minerals (electrolytes). 8 – 10 x 8 oz glasses a day should be enough if you are eating a lot of fruit and veg or having juices or smoothies as they contain water.
For this cleanse you need to forgo drinking artificial juices, alcohol, coffee, teas except green tea, shakes, milk and all other beverages
2. Fruits and veggies
Fruits and vegetables contain many nutrients that are needed to detox your body so are great for cleansing.
As well as valuable vitamins, minerals and antioxidants they also contain fiber that is needed to sweep toxins and harmful organisms from your gut.
When your small intestine is free from debris you are more likely to be able to digest and absorb the nutrients from foods that you eat.
No animal protein of fish or eaten for the 24 hours.
3 Real fruit and vegetable juices
Fresh fruit and vegetable juices flood your body with many nutrients and enzymes which alkalize and have great cleansing powers. As the nutrients are taken into the cells the acids and toxins are forced out.
With a good juicer, you can juice most kinds of fruit and vegetable even those with tough and hard rinds. You can continue juicing even when you are finished with your one day cleanse.
Smoothies are made with the whole fruit or vegetable so are considered to be better by some. Green smoothies are good for cleansing as they contain chlorophyll which helps to cleanse the blood.
4.Whole grains
Grains may or may not be included on a one day cleanse. If you are at all worried about being hungry or weak while on a cleanse then start the day with a bowl of healthy whole grain.
Eating grains like oatmeal are great sources of fiber and energy and can help you feel fuller longer. Quinoa contains all nine essential amino acids, making it a complete protein and can help stabilize your blood sugar.
While a one day cleanse will not remove many of the toxins that have built up in your body over the years you could feel fresher, lighter, energized and more focused and ready to do a longer, deeper cleanse or detox.
You might like to start with the 3 day detox then move on to the 7 day Spring detox.

According to my point of view one day cleanse is not worth doing, you should do it on regular basis…….

Hi Imran,
You are right in the sense that if you are just going to do a one day cleanse and then go back to your previous diet then it’s not worth it. You won’t detox much at all with a one day cleanse. I have explained in the article when it can be useful. There is no doubt that we need to be detoxing all the time.
Good health
Sandy
