The 5 Step Doable Spring Detox Plan

It’s well known that most people have well and truly ditched their New Year Detox Plan by the middle of January. They are fed up with chugging down cold juices, munching on cold raw salads and feeling deprived and hungry in the middle of winter.

But what if there was a way to get healthy with a Spring Detox Diet Plan that does not involve a fad diet or starvation? What if you could get back onto the health track by making a few simple changes to your diet and lifestyle?

Detox plan

Spring is traditionally a time to cleanse. During the winter months your body has accumulated toxins due to immune challenges, poor diet choices, lack of exercise, and the mental/emotional as well as physical stresses of the long cold winter.

In Chinese medicine, Spring is the time of renewal and regeneration. It is also associated with the element of wood which represents the liver and the gallbladder, the body’s main organs of detoxification.

So if you want a boost in energy, clearer skin, better digestion, less gas and bloating,  better sleep, clearer mind and to feel radiant here are some gentle and safe ways to bring the energy of spring cleansing into your life.

5 Step Doable Spring Detox Plan

1. Get Rehydrated

Many people fail to drink the minimum of 8 x 8 oz glasses of water a day recommended by health and nutrition experts.

Our bodies are made up of about 70% water which plays a vital role in nearly every bodily process. Water is essential for proper digestion and circulation, numerous chemical reactions, nutrient absorption and the elimination of toxins and waste material.

Our blood is mostly water which transports nutrients to cells and waste materials away from them. When dehydrated the blood becomes thick and saturated and is unable to flow freely. The toxins must then be stored in the area surrounding the cells. Over time this space begins to resemble a toxic waste site leading to disease.

Drinking an adequate amount of pure water everyday is very important in order to help flush out toxins and impurities.

According to Dr Sircus lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue. One glass of water shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

So, swap that soda for quality water and drink 1 – 2 liters of it a day. If you don’t like the taste of plain water try these tasty flavored detox waters instead.

2. Get Juicing

Simply adding one fresh vegetable juice or green smoothie a day is a powerful addition to any detox diet                       Detox Diet Plan

Each glass of fresh home-made juice is packed with natural vitamins, minerals, natural sugars, natural fats, amino acids, antioxidants, enzymes and water.

Fresh juices or smoothies deliver much needed nutrients to your cells and push out the toxins that have accumulated in your system.

3. Get Alkaline

It’s a fact that our cells and tissues need alkalinity for optimum function but our body processes produce acid. Maintaining the delicate balance betwen the two vital for good health.

Generally foods are either acid or alkaline forming. Unfortunately, with modern food processing, the majority of people eat a very acidifying diet leading to a lack of celluar energy needed to clear acid wastes.

Alkaline foods and water must be consumed to provide the nutrients the body needs to neutralize acids and toxins in the blood, lymph, tissues, and cells.

Reduce the consumption of caffeine, sugar, products made from sugar, additives, preservatives, processed and junk foods,  intensively reared meat, fatty meat ,and fried foods.

A diet rich in plant foods supplies your body with vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients that give your detox system a boost.

Add green smoothies, salads, sprouts and veggies. A super green product like Green Organics 5 Alive Green Vitality is an easy and tasty way to flood you body with alkalizing, healing and restorative nutrients.

Two ways to get moving here.

1. Exercise

Regular exercize stimulates the blood and lymph circulation. The lymph, an important detox channel, is similar to blood, and brings nourishment to our cells and carries away toxic waste.

But, unlike blood which is pumped around your body by your heart, the lymphatic system relies on movement from regular exercise to prevent it from becoming stagnant.

Whether it be dancing, rebounding, or jogging, moving your booty is an essential part of detoxing your body.

2. Keep your bowels moving.

It’s no good doing all the above if you don’t “go” regularly. By regularly I mean at least once a day.

Your liver dumps toxins it has neutralized into the bile which gets concentrated and stored in your gall bladder until you eat a fatty meal. The bile is then released into your digestive system where it breaks down the fat so that your other fat-digesting enzymes can get to work.

Low fat diets are bad news for your gallbladder & detox. Without fat in your diet the bile gets more and more concentrated and toxins don’t get out of your body. This is why a diet rich in healthy fat like nuts, cold pressed olive and seed oils, coconut oil and organic butter is good for you.

The bile helps to stimulate the intestines to move so the waste and toxins are expelled from your body. Add a tablespoonful or two of Flax seeds (linseeds) or Chia seeds to your breakfast if your bowels do not move at lest once a day.  Here are some simple seed recipes to help with your detox plan.

5. Get brushing

Dry skin brushing is another way to get that lymph pumping to move those toxins out of your body. It removes dead skin cells which helps to allow the excretion of toxins. It can also help reduce cellulite which is a bonus.

Making time to brush for 10 minutes daily before showering is a great way to wake up. So, don’t do it just before bed.

The No. 1 reason for doing a detox is to improve your health and create more healthful habits so it’s important to not just jump right back into consuming vast quantities of coffee or caffeinated drinks, sugar and processed food right after you have finished.

Sticking to a high plant based diet of fresh vegetables and fruit, nuts, seeds, cold pressed oils, whole foods with some wild, low mercury fish, grass fed meat,  organic free range poultry and organic eggs is the healthiest post detox plan for most people.
